The presentation “Silage That Produces Milk” brings together the perspectives of forage growers, feed laboratories, and dairy cattle nutritionists: what each party sees in silage and what the others actually need.
We will look at which silage analysis parameters are used by silage producers and which results are most important from the perspective of cattle nutrition and milk production. We will also discuss what information is currently missing from silage analyses and where communication gaps arise between crop growers/agronomists and dairy farmers/nutritionists.
The aim is to show how laboratory results and practical feeding can work better together, so that forage is not only well made but also truly “produces milk.”
