BlueNimbus is an engineering project initiated by students of the Estonian Aviation Academy, aiming to develop an energy-efficient agricultural drone solution.
The team is designing and building a fixed-wing VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) drone capable of taking off and landing vertically. The drone features a modular spraying system designed to dispense programmed amounts of water at precisely specified GPS coordinates.
In addition to their hands-on engineering work, BlueNimbus represented Estonia at the international UAS Challenge finals in the United Kingdom, where the team’s technical expertise, innovative thinking and ability to solve real-world agricultural challenges were put to the test.
BlueNimbus brings together the knowledge, creativity and practical aviation engineering skills of young engineers to advance Estonian agricultural technology and develop smarter, more energy-efficient solutions for the future.
